Social Media and the Web: What is it, and Why You Should Care!
The Arts Council presents the second in the 2009 workshop series, What Every Artist Wants to Know, but Is Afraid to Ask, on Wednesday, March 18 from 7-9pm. The topic will be “ Social Media and the Web: What is it, and Why You Should Care! ” with Rebecca Krause-Hardie. The workshop will be held at the Arts Council office, 23 White Oak Drive in Sugar Loaf. The cost is $15 or free for artist members of the Council.
Still think that Twitter is what the birds do and Flicker is what the lights do. Still don’t know how to blog, tag or Digg. Are YouTube, MySpace, and FaceBook still a mystery? Then this presentation is for you, an introduction to social media. The workshop will give an overview of what social media is, explore ideas about how to use social media strategically, and look at a few case studies of how others are using social media effectively today. With such rapid changes in technology and especially on the web, it is easy to be overwhelmed. This session will look at ways to approach social media that are just right for where we are now.
