Call to Artists for River Day & Flag Day & Last Saturday RAW

River Art Walk, in conjunction with the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Committee, will hold two special events on the Newburgh Waterfront and we invite artists, artisans, crafts people, quad vendors, authors and performers to participate.

On June 7, 2009 a flotilla of boats will sail in to Newburgh Beacon Bay and will include replicas of the Half Moon and the 1700’s Dutch Onrust, the Sloop Clearwater and the Woody Guthrie along with a plethora of other vessels.  Musical performances will be held throughout the afternoon.  Other activities are being planned and we anticipate a large number of people.

On June 14, 2007 there will be the “Blending of the Waters” where local schoolchildren bearing flags of the nations who settled our bay will pour representational water from around the world that will mingle with the waters in Newburgh Beacon Bay. The John J. Harvey Fireboat, one of the first 9/11 responders, will then blend the waters in a spray show.

Participant vendors will be allocated a specific fifteen foot space on Newburgh Landing, along Front Street, in the north side of UNICO Park OR in the Second Street sidewalk divide to the waterfront.  Participants must provide their own displays and all items must be priced and ready for sale. Pop-up tents will be allowed and encouraged to create a colorful festive atmosphere.  There will be a $25 fee per day or $45 for both days.  If you are interest in participating as an artist, craftsperson, or Quadricentennial vendor, please fill out the attached form and return it to reserve a location.
