Historic Architecture in Orange County
Orange County offers a wide and varied array of architectural styles from
Federalist to Romanesque Revival ~ from Brutalism to English Tudor ~ from
Gingerbread houses to Military Gothic ~ from the Bull Houses and New World
Dutch barn to the Second Empire Style with its distinctive Mansard roof…
plus…
The exhibit shall be comprised of photographs, pen & ink drawings, and
paintings, and 3D models (if we are lucky enough to get any) of
representative structures.
The exhibit should include public and private buildings -courthouses,
churches, the OC Government Center, Victorian houses, Mansard roofed houses,
other period houses, railroad stations, storefronts, theaters, many
buildings on the USMA-West Point…..
The National Register of Historic Places has a huge list of structures in
Orange County that includes photos and addresses. I can also make
suggestions to and answer questions of interested artists. I will work with
you.
The exhibit will start at the Seligmann Studio, Orange County Citizens
Foundation, Sugar Loaf in September. Then, in October through December it
will move to Orange Hall Gallery, Orange County Community College,
Middletown; then, on to the Executive Suite, OC Government Center 2010, and
perhaps, other appropriate venues. Numbers of works in each venue depends on
the available space. Receptions will be held at venues.
Works can be for sale.
Hanging works must be wired with eyehooks and ready to hang. (No wet or
otherwise unfinished works.)
