Orange County Open Studio Weekend 2009 Celebrates the Artists and Craftspeople of Orange County

The Orange County Arts Council presents Orange County Open Studio Weekend 2009, a county-wide event during which Orange County artists and craftspeople open their studios to the public for the sale and demonstration of their work. This event will be held on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18 from 11am to 5pm.

The Orange County Arts Council produces this unique event to educate the public about the skill and processes that go into the production of craft and art work, and to offer an opportunity for the community to support and explore local arts in Orange County. Visitors will tour throughout the county learning how art works are created while experiencing the environments where the artistry and handicrafts are conceived.

Over 40 artists and craftspeople are participating including Art In The Barn, Amity Arts Pottery, Beatrice Bloom Ceramics, Bertoni Gallery, Big Pig Designs, Boogiehouse, Cedarwood Center For the Arts, Daniel Mack Studio, Di Bello Gallery/ Frame Shop, Exposures Gallery, Fine Art Studios, Gallery Warwick, Gourd Art By Claudia, Holton – Smith Photos, J.Howard Fatta and Louis Fatta, Rahl Nadas Gallery and Potshop, Linton Designs, M.E Whitehill- Watercolors, Mary Cathryn Roth, Michael Tobin Fine Art, Orange County Ballet Theatre, Susan Miiller Fine Art, The Blue Rose Studio, Michael Piotrowski, RG Bruer, Roslyn Fasset Studio, Fine Art Studios, Strazza Fine Arts & Photography, and Wallkill River School.

Using the Orange County Studio Tour Map, visitors are directed to each participating studio location. These self-guided tour maps will be available throughout the county in galleries, local lodging businesses and tourist information centers, and can also be found at www.ocartscouncil.org.

The Orange County Arts Council will host an opening reception on Friday, October 9, from 5pm to 8pm as well as a Preview Exhibition on October 10 and 11 from 10 am to 5 pm where select works from participating crafters and artists will be on display at the Seligmann Homestead, 23 White Oak Drive, Sugar Loaf, NY.
