Laura Breitman Artwork Raffle to Benefit Orange County Land Trust

Take a chance on winning an original fabric collage and support a good cause!

Warwick collage artist Laura Breitman will raffle off one of her original works of art in conjunction with her fall/winter studio show – with all proceeds donated to the Orange County Land Trust. Studio show dates are Saturdays and Sundays, November 28-29, December 5-6 and December 12-13. The shows will take place at 39 Mountainside Road in Warwick, from 11am – 4 pm. The raffle drawing will be held on December 13th at 4:00pm.

In addition, three other fiber artists will be displaying their work in Laura Breitman’s studio: Amy Baglione from Newburgh, New York, Terry Wolfson Tighe from Teaneck, New Jersey, and Natalia Margulis from Livingston, New Jersey.

A demonstration of Breitman’s collage technique will be held each day of the studio show at 1pm. “It is my goal to educate and excite the public on how the same materials can be used so differently with very exciting results. Thousands of pieces of fabric are often contained in each work. Attention to detail is my way of capturing viewers, bringing them in closer so that details meld into shapes and color – which is often the case when we contemplate an object.”

Laura Breitman’s collages have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the Ohio Craft Museum in Cleveland, and the Alliance Gallery of the Indianapolis Museum. Her work also appears as part of numerous corporate and museum collections, including the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City and Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Foundation Award, and the Best in Fiber Award at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Exhibition. She conducts workshops in her Warwick studio in the photorealistic collage method.

The price of a raffle ticket is $25.00. The collage – a Hudson Valley scene with a retail value of $3,000- will be exhibited during Brietman’s studio show dates. For additional information, telephone (845) 258-4796.
