Vau net works is an internet based art marketing revolution. Artists through the centuries have searched for new ways to produce their imagery for the masses. Printmaking traditionally has been the avenue for this endeavor. The present state of computer technology has a four color printing process available in most homes. Never before could original imagery be replicated as readily.
Using i-tunes as a model for the other performing arts such as music and video, vau looks to present individual j-pegs of original artist work for the base price of $.99. The buyer has the privilege of reproducing the imagery in any way. For paper, the image will have a high resolution of 300dpi for the home printer. The image can also be used on any phone, computer or home entertainment app.
There will be three opportunities for member artists to market their work. First, the $.99 jpg will be offered in a high resolution, sized correctly to print on a 8.5 x 11 inch paper.. Second, the artist may market their original work online for the market value. Other ideas for future possibilities include albums of a series of works. Possibilities also include a hand signed 12 x 18 inch print of the imagery on 13 x 19 inch archival paper with 4 color UV ink for $29.99
The only cost to join vau is a one time $100 commitment. The artist may present as many works as they choose. The artists will receive 50% of all online sales. Vau will re-invest in the union to grow. Vau members will be offered an exhibition in their first year of joining at bau/beacon artist union gallery at 161 Main Street, Beacon, NY. The work presented will include the $.99 jpg matted and framed, and the original works of the artist’s choice. Vau’s initial exhibition will be bau 64 in April, 2010.
