SKYLIGHT GALLERY-CALL FOR ENTRY

PRIVATE I-This show will include work responding to the concept of personal and private investigation. How are you investigating yourself, creatively, artistically, interactively? What images are called forth by the phrase Private I? Noir? Gumshoe? Freud? Self Reflective?
Submit your piece now for the opportunity to show in the Skylight Gallery in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan. Artwork must be 12”x 12” in size and will be shown alongside the work of other artists chosen to show.

Show will open on Aug.26^th, 2010 from 6-9pm.

Guidelines for submission:

Include the following information with your submission please, no exceptions will be made to the format described. Send 1 to 3 images on CD. 72 dpi not larger than 2 megs. file name Last Name_First_Title of work. Work not fitting this format will not be shown or returned to that artist.

-12”x 12” piece in any media-framed or unframed is acceptable. Final dimensions including frame may not exceed 12 inches.

On a back of your work include -Name, Title of work, Media

-$25 submission fee, checks and money orders accepted, made out to Skylight Gallery sent to ATTN: Laura Haut Skylight Gallery at 538 W 29^th St, New York, New York 10001

Schedule

Submission deadline Friday Aug. 6^th 4pm
notification by email or phone on Aug. 10th
delivery of work to the gallery between Aug. 16 and Aug, 23^rd

Opening reception Thurs. Aug. 26^th 6 to 9 pm

Show runs through Sept. 15^th.

Pick up work Sept. 16^th 10 am to 4 pm or include return shipping.

-Accepted Works can be hand delivered to Skylight Gallery at 538 W 29^th St, New York, New York 10001 on-Monday Aug. 23^rd 10 to 4 or Tues Aug. 24^th 10 to 2 pm

-Include return postage and return address if you want your work returned to you after the show.

2nd annual Peace Awards Art Show and Sale. This year, the exhibition will run for two weeks here at Shadowcliff from September 25 to October 9, 2010. This year’s theme is Peace of the Action. A play on words, Peace of the Action speaks to being a “piece” or part of an active flow, while also referring to a state of wholeness and serenity within a movement for peace. As in 2008, the art show is a fundraiser; FOR will be splitting the proceeds 50/50 with 1participating artists. However, this year, there is a $20. entry fee.

I’ve attached our flyer and entry guidelines. Let me know if you’d like to participate again and I’ll send you the entry form. I look forward to hearing from you.

River Art Walk Call for Artists

The first River Art Walk of 2010 will be held on Saturday May 29 on Newburgh’s Waterfront from Noon to Dusk. We welcome artists and artisans of all media to display & sell their original works.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010 between 11AM-12PM is the time to DELIVER works to Gallery Warwick, 17 River Street, Warwick, NY for the 56th Annual Members’ Exhibition. Works must be ready to hang. (Eyelets and wire only, please No alligator clips). No wet paintings or work that has been formerly shown in previous members’ shows. The Warwick Art League reserves the right to reject any work deemed unsuitable.

In the event of snow, the rescheduled drop off is FRIDAY, MARCH 5, FROM 1PM-3PM. Please check this site Wednesday morning for any announcement of rescheduling due to weather.

56th Annual Member's Exhibition

WAL member artists are invited to participate in the Warwick Art League’s 56th Annual Members Exhibition, March 6 -March 28, 2010. The exhibition will be held at Gallery Warwick, on the 2nd floor of the Lehigh & Hudson Railroad Building, 17 River Street, in Warwick. Members of the Warwick Art League may show their original works of art, in a variety of mediums including oils, graphics, mixed media collage, watercolors, photography, sculpture, pencils, pastels, charcoals, etc.

Entrants must be members of The Warwick Art League in good standing (dues must be paid by March 1st to qualify)

Limited to two entries, not to exceed 32″.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. The closing reception and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday March 28, 2010 from 3-5 p.m.
Gallery Warwick is normally scheduled to be open during the receptions only. However, for this event, the gallery may be open additional hours each weekend of the exhibit, with the help of volunteers from the Warwick Art League.

A sign up sheet for additional sitting schedule will be available at drop off.

37th Annual Sugar Loaf Fall Festival – Craft Demonstrators Needed!

Sugar Loaf Chamber of Commerce is looking for craftspeople for their Annual Fall Festival to be held October 10-12, 2009. The Fall Festival celebrates the natural beauty of the valley, with crafts, artists, food, music and demonstrations. This annual event offers something for everyone. Admission is free and the festival attracts thousands of visitors over the 3 days of the Columbus Day weekend.

This juried festival is open to all artists & craftspeople who create their own work. Assembled and commercial work is not eligible. Categories are filled on a first come basis once juried.

What’s a festival without food? We have from local restaurants to visiting food vendors with all kinds of goodies! Ethnic foods and old favorites like Kettle Korn and more….

We limit our categories to make a nice selection for our visitors and a profitable weekend our visiting vendors.

Music and entertainment are a festive addition, with all kinds of family oriented fun and performers. We welcome music, dance, poetry, puppetry, story telling and more.

Our goal is to promote the arts and give entertainers the chance to express themselves, be seen and heard.

Vendor spaces are 10′ x 10′. Surfaces for booth setup will vary, grass asphalt, dirt. We will do our best to accommodate special requests. A canopy is recommended as the event is held outdoors, rain or shine.

Jurying will continue until categories are filled, or the application deadline of Sept 21, whichever comes first. Once juried, you will receive notice immediately. If accepted, your fee payment will be deposited and you will receive an information package for the festival. If not accepted this year, your fee and slides will be returned.

This is a Rain or Shine Event!
