The nine local artists of the Friday Morning painters participating in the exhibit are: Gulsen Beasley, Robert Innela, Sarah Lane, Alma Larkin, Sylvia Levy, Sarah McHugh, Winnie O’Dougherty, Gwenda Ross and Mary Sealfon.

The exhibit will include oil paintings, pastels, watercolors and sculptures.

For more than 25 years, the Friday Morning Painters, artists from the Warwick and the surrounding area, have gathered together on Friday mornings to paint portraits, figure drawings, still life or whatever pleases their imaginations.

During the summer months they gather at a pleasant local scene for plein aire painting. They enjoy the company of the fellow artists, their discussions of famous works of art and an occasional critique of their own work.

The group began by meeting at the Bandwagon, later called Doc Fry’s and now known as the Warwick Community Center. At the present time the group meets at the Warwick Senior Center on Kings Highway. They extend an invitation to artist’s in the community to join them at the Warwick Senior Center.

The Albert Wisner Public Library is located at One McFarland Drive in the Village of Warwick. The gallery is on the lower level of the facility. For library hours, visit www.albertwisnerlibrary.org

For this special event, Claudia Pflueger will demonstrate all the stages of production and show all the tools she uses. In addition, Claudia will also include a demonstration of pine needle coiling.

Thought I’d send out a reminder about my annual Mother’s Day Sale. It will be this Friday, April 30th and Saturday, May1st from 11AM – 2PM at the Studio, which is on the ground floor of my home at 39 Kenilworth Lane in Warwick. I’ll have lots of new work as well as some familiar styles. All will be discounted on these two days between 10% – 30% off of my regular prices. Pieces available for sale include: ceramic pendant necklaces and earrings, Lampwork and Murano Glass jewelry, ceramic trays and bowls, and all are one of a kind pieces.

You can enter through the Garage where you’ll see a lot of Bargain Closeouts which will range from $5 – $10. Then head on into the work studio and showroom where everything will be out on display for you to touch, try on and hopefully you’ll find some Mother’s Day Gifts you like.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 from 6-9 p.m.   The closing reception and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday March 28, 2010 from 3-5 p.m.
Gallery Warwick is normally scheduled to be open during the receptions only. However, for this event, the gallery may be open additional hours each weekend of the exhibit, with the help of volunteers from the Warwick Art League.

A sign up sheet for additional sitting schedule will be available at drop off.

WAL Member Diane Ouzoonian will be showing her work at the Greenwood Lake Library in February. The title of the show is PURE COLORS and it runs from Feb.1-26  The show consists of figures,still life and local landscapes in oils and watercolor.
