June/July Meeting – a Special Open Studio Event

Our June/July meeting takes place on Sunday, June 27, from 2-4 pm. This meeting will not be held at its regular location: instead we are offering an opportunity for WAL members to visit the studio of artist Claudia Pflueger.

For this special event, Claudia Pflueger will demonstrate all the stages of production and show all the tools she uses. In addition, Claudia will also include a demonstration of pine needle coiling.

Because this program will be held in the artist’s studio, attendance is limited to the first 25 members who sign up. To make a reservation email the Warwick Art League.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010 between 11AM-12PM is the time to DELIVER works to Gallery Warwick, 17 River Street, Warwick, NY for the 56th Annual Members’ Exhibition. Works must be ready to hang. (Eyelets and wire only, please No alligator clips). No wet paintings or work that has been formerly shown in previous members’ shows. The Warwick Art League reserves the right to reject any work deemed unsuitable.

In the event of snow, the rescheduled drop off is FRIDAY, MARCH 5, FROM 1PM-3PM. Please check this site Wednesday morning for any announcement of rescheduling due to weather.

56th Annual Member's Exhibition

WAL member artists are invited to participate in the Warwick Art League’s 56th Annual Members Exhibition, March 6 -March 28, 2010. The exhibition will be held at Gallery Warwick, on the 2nd floor of the Lehigh & Hudson Railroad Building, 17 River Street, in Warwick. Members of the Warwick Art League may show their original works of art, in a variety of mediums including oils, graphics, mixed media collage, watercolors, photography, sculpture, pencils, pastels, charcoals, etc.

Entrants must be members of The Warwick Art League in good standing (dues must be paid by March 1st to qualify)

Limited to two entries, not to exceed 32″.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. The closing reception and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday March 28, 2010 from 3-5 p.m.
Gallery Warwick is normally scheduled to be open during the receptions only. However, for this event, the gallery may be open additional hours each weekend of the exhibit, with the help of volunteers from the Warwick Art League.

A sign up sheet for additional sitting schedule will be available at drop off.

Soup and Video POSTPONED!!!!!

The Warwick Art League’s annual Soup and Video will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the home of Lisa Zukowski. Members are invited to attend this annual get together of good food, good conversation, and an art related video.

Meeting begins at 1pm. Please bring a dish or drink to share. For more information or directions, email The Warwick Art League.

The fee is still just $25 per year for single membership and $35 for a family membership.

WAL Holiday Party

The annual Holiday Party will take place on Sunday, Dec 6 from 2-4pm at the home of Susan Fogel.

This is a Pot Luck Luncheon, and this year we are going Italian! Please bring an Italian style dish or beverage to share . There is also an optional art themed grab bag (limit $10).

Cigar Box Workshop

The Warwick Art League will hold a cigar box assemblage workshop on Saturday, October 24, from 10am – 2pm at the studio of Lisa Zukowski. Create your own mixed media assemblage using a cigar box or other container as a base. Participants should bring a cigar box or other container, and a variety of ephemera to use and share. To see what others have done, click here.

Fee $5, limited to 10 participants, reservations required. Email Lisa to reserve a space and receive a list of recommended supplies.
