ARTIST OPPORTUNITY: CANVAS’ 9th Anniversary Celebration!

CANVAS, the region’s premiere Arts and Entertainment newspaper, is sponsoring an Arts & Crafts Fair and Plein Air Paint-out at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum on Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4 in Livingston Manor.

The fair is part of the Museum’s Summerfest/Jubilee and Flea Market which draws 1,000+ visitors.

Booth spaces are 12×12 and are free, and no commission will be charged.

There will be a fishing themed Plein Air Paint Out during the weekend with an opportunity for your work to be included in an August exhibit.

Saturday: set up any time from 8:30am-10am. Closing 5:00pm.

Sunday: set up any time from 9:00am-10am. Closing 3:00pm.

If you wish, your Plein Air artwork created at the event can be on display on a horizontal door panel in the Fly Fishing Museum’s beautiful new Wulff Gallery from August 12th through December 5th, and you can utilize the full panel for additional piece(s) to go with the Plein Air artwork for sale.

Since the Summerfest/Jubilee weekend at the Museum includes a flea market, you might consider concentrating on unframed artwork, displayed in bins.  That would also make it easier to store overnight.

We suggest leaving your canopies and chairs/table at the location, perhaps keeping your art in your car overnight at home. You can also store your art in the Gallery which is locked overnight.  (Your responsibility.)

Booth sharing is encouraged. You would have more freedom during the weekend if you shared your space with another artist or craftsperson.

Visitors throughout the weekend will vote on a “Best of Plein Air Show” Award.  The winning artist will have a prominent space in the August 12-December 5 art exhibit at Wulff Gallery.

As space is limited, please sign up as soon as you can.  Preference will be given to artists who sign up for both days.
