April artist workshops

The Orange County Arts Council is offering a series of Educational Workshops in April. Workshops will be presented by experienced professionals who will offer guidance and suggestions for how to best market and manage yourself, your organization and your art. These workshops are for artists of all genres and experience levels.

On April 23rd at 6pm, members of the creative team from Media Solstice Marketing and Public Relations Agency will present a fun and informative workshop on Social Media – Beyond Facebook. Attendees will learn about what social media platforms work best for the arts, both visual as well as performing. Media Solstice is a marketing and public relations firm with more than 25 years of collective experience. They are driven by creative vision, strategic planning, and personal service that allow small- to medium-sized businesses to succeed. Media Solstice Marketing & Public Relations not only educates their clients on great ways to market their business, but they implement a plan that is customized specifically to help them reach their goals. This workshop is free for Arts Council members and $15 for non-members.

Joseph Dans from Rogue Wave Creative will be back on April 30th at 6pm to do a workshop on Developing Practical Marketing Strategies for Artists. This workshop will teach attendees how to evaluate customer needs and build a unique, practical and affordable guerilla marketing strategy for your art.  From designing art that sells to practical public relations for shoestring budgets, the session will provide ideas for creatively positioning you and your art in the market for success. This workshop is free for Arts Council members and $15 for non-members.

Please call the Arts Council at 845-469-9168 or email jen@ocartscouncil.org ahead of time to register for any or all of the workshops. These workshops are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts.

All workshops will be held at the Seligman Studio, 23 White Oak Dr. Sugar Loaf.  If using GPS, please use Chester as the town.  Park in the back upper parking lot and studio entrance is in the back of the building.
