On Sunday, June 2nd at 2 pm, The Warwick Art League is having a demo on Basic Perspective Drawing by Catherine Pierson De Cesare. This will take place at The Warwick Senior Center, behind the Town Hall on Kings Highway in Warwick, NY. A business meeting will precede the demo at 1:30 pm. Please RSVP for this demo to warwickartleague@gmail.com.
This program is intended to give the artist an understanding of basic one-point and two-point perspective. Using pencil, triangle and graph paper you will begin to understand basic concepts needed to enhance your city and landscape plein air drawings and paintings. Demonstration and exercises will be taught on the usefulness in understanding the Horizon Line and Vanishing Point. This class is appropriate for beginner or advanced students.
Grid paper will be supplied. Artists should bring sharp pencils (HB is good), a sharpener, eraser and a triangle.
Catherine Pierson De Cesare is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC with a BFA in Illustration. Her architectural rendering career began while living in Alexandria, VA. There she was commissioned to draw historic sites and homes where she developed her personal style and her understanding of perspective. Besides architectural drawing, she illustrates fashion and figure painting.
Members may participate at no charge; $10 for non-members. All are welcome and refreshments will be served.
