Current 2026 members of the Warwick Art League have been invited again this year to paint in one or more of the seven gardens selected by the Warwick Valley Gardeners. It takes place Saturday, July 11th from 9am – 4pm, with the 12th as the rain date. The collaboration between our two community organizations has been a much appreciated, creatively delightful and rewarding experience for all.
We are aiming to make sure each garden is covered and represented in our follow-up exhibit, which will take place from September through October in the boardroom of the Albert Wisner Public Library. This gives each artist the rest of July and all of August to complete and frame their works for display and for sale. If you would like to participate, you will need to sign up, letting Sarah McHugh know no later than July 1st in order to be placed on the Warwick Valley Gardeners list to allow you to go on their pre-tour that Friday evening before. Once signed up, Sarah McHuch will let you know when and where to meet to carpool. Please get the map to go around to select the garden where you wish to paint in and let Sarah know your selected location right after the pre-tour that evening so she can notify the gardeners so they can properly set up the garden (morning and/or afternoon) to avoid duplications.
You can contact Sarah McHugh at (845) 544 – 8747, or by email at mchughstudio@yahoo.com. Again, this opportunity is open to all current, paid-up Warwick Art League members for 2026. We are looking forward to a wonderful, creative and challengingly beautiful experience for all!
Also, if you would like to participate but currently do not own a portable plein-air easel, Sarah has a couple spare ones that you are welcome to borrow for the day.
